Our licensing service is only appropriate for project owners who have experience writing Gold Standard project documentation, or who have a consultant who can do this. CO2balance will ensure that all project documentation produced by the project owner or consultant meets the pre-approved criteria set by the Gold Standard and is therefore eligible for inclusion into our microprogramme.

We act as the project consultant and because, uniquely, we offer all carbon finance project development services as part of our package, we are able to offer highly competitive pricing for this service. We can also tailor our services depending on project owner needs. CO2balance will develop all project documentation and be sure that it meets the pre-approved criteria of our microprogramme.

The Aberdares region contains a rich diversity of vegetation. There are several ancient forests in the region like Kereita Forest which is at the core of the project area; this forest is at the southern-most end of the Aberdare range and several kilometres from Kimende, the local centre of population and shopping centre. This forest is credited with the largest scale of destruction related to Kenya's indigenous tree species, mainly as a source of firewood by the community surrounding the forest.
